Imagine a miniscule smidgen of water at 12,000 ft. Picture it being pushed together by thousands upon thousands of other sprites of vapour, collecting in the atmosphere, becoming heavier and heavier. At first drifting slowly like a feather floating through the air but exponentially gathering pace and weight to hit terminal velocity and drop from the sky. That, my friend, is unity and it's the name of the first exhibition to anoint the recently opened One of a Kind store in Darlinghurst.

Arranged by Sydney fashion stalwart and One of a Kind owner, Dion Kovac, Unity features artists such as Shaun Gladwell, Anthony Lister, Daniel Boyd and Marty Baptist. Particularly satisfying is the personal connection that Dion has with each of the artists involved; he used to skate with Gladwell in Bondi and hosted one of Lister's first exhibitions at his old store, Our Spot.

From slow-mo-skate Gladwell to the biting lusciousness of Boyd's painting, Unity is a testament to Dion's commitment to the multi-faceted clothes shops-cum-galleries he's set up over the years. Do come along, brew a storm.
